Overview

The river Ganges is the source of Hindu civilization and it has been described as the holiest river in Hindu scriptures as well in many mythologies. Water of Ganges is used in most of the Hindu rituals and ceremonies. Sailing all along the River you come across the scenes never to be seen in one’s life, such as Hindus thronging on the Ghats (banks) and plunging into the holy water to purify themselves, Sadhus in saffron clothes meditating on the banks, dead bodies brought and cremated on the banks for the deliverance of their souls from the earthly entanglements.

Day 1: Arrive Delhi

On arrival at Terminal 3 Delhi Airport you will be welcomed and escorted by MONDIAL ESCAPES representative to your hotel. Enroute handover of Trip Documents along wih a short brief on your forthcoming North India Religious Trip.

Day 2: Delhi

After breakfast, combined full day guided sightseeing tour of Old & New Delhi. Start your visit with Old Delhi, founded in 17th century by the 5th great Moghul Emperor Shahjahan. Visit the famous Jama Masjid (Friday mosque). Later take a brisk walk in the winding lanes of Old Delhi to get the real taste of India. Visit the Mahatama Gandhi Memorial (Rajghat) and take a panoramic tour of India gate followed by President House

Post lunch visit Qutub Minar, the tallest 12th century minaret situated in the South of Delhi. Before sunset visit a Sikh Temple, known as Gurudwara Bangla Sahib a place where you see the fervor of Sikh community.

Day 3: Delhi-Agra (Surface / 225 kms / 5 hours)

Breakfast at the hotel.

Check out and drive to Agra. Arrive and check into your hotel.

Afternoon visit the Red Fort which known to be important capital of Mughals.

Most of construction is in Red sand stone with a moderate use of Marble. Later visit the beautiful white marble Taj Mahal built by the Moghul Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal, who died in 1631. One of the most beautiful monuments of India never fails to amaze a first time visitor. As soon as you travesrse the redsandstone entrance, awesomely you see the striking contrast of white marble with green grass and the blue sky in the backdrop of the Taj.  The white marble exterior changes colour according to the position of the sun during the day and is matched by the rich interior detail.

Day 4: Agra – Lucknow (Surface 335 kms / 6 hours)

Breakfast at the hotel.

Check out and drive to Lucknow.

LUCKNOW, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, extends along the banks of the River Gomti. The creator of Lucknow as it is today was Nawab Asaf ud Daula. The city became known as a centre for Urdu poetry and courtly diction, and reached its acme during the reign of Wajid Ali Shah who was a connoisseur of music and poetry. It was during his reign that the British appropriated Awadh. Today, the city is dotted with remnants of its rich historic past.

Lucknow is also known for its elaborate cuisine and 'Chikankaari' or exquisite shadow-work embroidery on fine muslin cloth.

Arrive and check into your hotel. Later visit

Chhota Imambara, Near the Rumi Darwaza, this structure houses the tombs of Muhammad Ali Shah, its builder, and of his mother. Built between 1837 and 1842, it is also called the Chhota Imambara. It is approached through a fine garden. The Imambara has a white dome and numerous turrets and minarets. The walls of the mausoleum are decorated with verses in Arabic. Chandeliers, gilded mirrors, colorful stucco, the King's throne and ornate tazia or replicas of the tombs at Karbala adorn the interior.

Shah Najaf Imambara, This white-domed structure derives its name from the town of Najaf, about 200 km south of Baghdad where the Imam Hazrat Ali is buried. It is situated on the right bank of the Gomti, in this mausoleum are buried the remains of Ghazi-ud-din Haider and his wives, including Mubarak Mahal, his European wife. The entrance leads to a beautiful garden. The silver tomb of Ghazi-ud-din Haider lies in the centre of the building and is flanked by the more imposing silver and gold tomb of Mubarak Mahal on one side, and another tomb on the other.

Evening experience the delicasies for which Lucknow is worldwide famous for it’s The Tunde Kababs, Biryani…& Shahi Tukda in desert.

Day 5: Lucknow / Ayodhya (Surface 135 kms / 3 hours)

Breakfast at the hotel.

Check out and drive to Ayodhya.

Ayodhya is a city located in Ayodhya district of Uttar Pradesh, India. The city is identified with the legendary city of Ayodhya and as such is the birthplace of Lord Rama and setting of the epic Ramayana.

Arrive Ayodhya and check into your hotel.

Evening Arti at 0530 PM (Winter Time) & 0600 PM ( Summer time) at Ramtemple, Hanuman Garhi.

Day 6: Ayodhya / Allahabad (Surface 170 kms / 4 hours)

Morning breakfast at hotel.

Check out & drive to Allahabad.

Afternoon arrive Allahabad & transfer to your hotel.

Allahabad is among the largest cities in Uttar Pradesh. Allahabad stands at the confluence of two holy rivers, the Ganga and the Yamuna. Sangam, as the confluence is called, is the venue of many sacred fairs and rituals, and attracts thousands of pilgrims throughout the year. This number swells to millions during the world-famous Kumbh Mela. A third mythical Saraswati river, believed to flow underground towards the Sangam, gives the confluence its other name 'Triveni'.

Day 7: Allahabad / Varanasi (Surface 120 kms / 3 hours)

Early morning boat rides at Sangam River Ganges & later after breakfast at hotel check out and drive to Varanasi.

Varanasi, Standing on the western bank of India's holiest river Ganges, Varanasi, or Benaras, (also known as Kashi) is the oldest surviving city of the world and the cultural capital of India. According to the historians, the city was founded some ten centuries before the birth of Christ. The relationship between the sacred river and the city is the essence of Varanasi - 'the land of sacred light'. Varanasi’s associations with Lord Shiva extend to the beginning of time: legends relate how, after his marriage to Devi Parvati, Lord Shiva left his Himalayan abode and came to reside in Kashi with all the gods in attendance. Along the water's edge of Ganga, there are the burning ghats. The most sacred one is Manikarnika, associated with Goddess Parvati; it is in the heart of this city that there stands in its fullest majesty the Vishwanath Temple devoted to Shiva, the Lord of the Universe.

Evening rickshaws ride for famous Dasashvamedh Ghat and attend the evening Puja Ceremony. Return to the hotel.

Overnight at Varanasi

Day 8: Varanasi-Sarnath-Varanasi

Early morning enjoy the boat ride on the holy river Ganges followed by a brisk walk in the winding narrow lanes of Old Varanasi.

Breakfast at the hotel.

Later visit the Bharat Mata Temple, which has a big relief map of India in marble, a panoramic tour of The Benares Hindu University. Return to the hotel for breakfast.

Afternoon visit the Buddhist site Sarnath, where Buddha preached sermons to five disciples for the first time after attaining enlightenment.

Evening free time at leisure.

Overnight at Varanasi

Day 9: Varanasi - Bodhgaya (Surface 250 kms / 5 hours)

After breakfast check out and drive to Bodhgaya.

Bodhgaya is one of the most important and sacred Buddhist pilgrimage center in the world. It was here under a banyan tree, the Bodhi Tree; Gautama attained supreme knowledge to become Buddha, the Enlightened.

Arrive and check into your hotel.

Day 10: Bodhgaya-Gaya (Surface 16 kms) -New Delhi ( Flight)

Breakfast at hotel.

Visitt 80 ft Statue of the Buddha, Lotus Tank, Buddha Kund, Rajayatana, Brahm Yoni, Chinese Temple & Monastery, Burmese Temple, Buddhist Monastery of Bhutan, International Buddhist House & Japanese Temple, Thai Temple & Monastery, Tibetan Monastery, Archaeological Museum.

Post lunch check out & transfer to Gaya Airport to board flight to Delhi.

Day 11: New Delhi – Haridwar (Train Dep: 0645 hrs / Arr: 1136 hrs)

Early morning checkpacked breakfast check out and transfer to New Delhi station to board Shatabdi Train to Haridwar.

Train  - New Delhi / Haridwar: Dep: 0650 hrs / Arr: 1130 hrs.

Arrive Haridwar station and transfer to your hotel on bank of River Ganga.

Haridwar is one of the holiest pilgrimage places for Hindus also known as the doorsteps to the God. Every 12 years, there is a big congregation of Hindus on the banks of river Ganges. In 2010, on the occasion of the Kumbha Mela (the fair), which lasted almost for 2 month, attracted more than 50 million pilgrims & tourists to take a holy dip in the Ganges.

Afternoon at leisure, before sunset attends the beautiful Arti ceremony on the banks of Ganga, near Har-ki-Pauri.

Overnight at Haridwar.

Day 12: Haridwar-Rishikesh (Surface / 45 minutes)

After breakfast, full day excursion to Rishikesh, a city known for Yoga & Meditation, and came into notice when beatle group visited in late 60’s in one of the Ashrams of Rishikesh.

Visit Sita Mata Temple

Visit the suspension cable bridges over the Ganga River, known as Ram Jhula & Laxman Jhula. Visit one of the Ashrams where students learn Yoga & and Vedic studies in Sanskrit.

Evening Arti at Parmarth Ashram.

Overnight at Rishikesh

Day 13: Rishikesh – Dehradun (Surface / 30 minutes) / Delhi (Flight)

Breakfast at the hotel.

Check out and transfer to Dehradun airport to board flight to Delhi.

Flight - Dehradun / Delhi: Dep: 1230 hrs / Arr: 1415 hrs.
