Day 1: Arrive Chennai

As per flight schedule Arrive at Chennai International Airport where you will be meet Mondial Escapes Representative who will brief you on your trip and will transfer you to Hotel to ensure smooth checkin. After taking rest visit the city tour feel the atmosphere of south India. Chennai has been the first capital of British raj today it is the capital of Tamil Nadu state. You with discover the st. Mary Church the oldest Anglican Church in Asia & a fascinating Museum especially the bronze hall.

Day 2: Chennai /Mahabalipuram via Kanchipuram

After breakfast check out & drive to Mahabalipuram via enroute visiting Kanchipuram famous for its kailash Nath temple the first Dravadian temple & the 59 Km high akambaranatyh temple which has been built by Pallawas from 6th to 8th century & extended by Chollas. The most recent part of the wall has been added by vijay nagar 500 years ago. Mahabalipuram is a small village on the sea, with somptous rock carved temples belonging to the world Patrimonial. We will discover the very huge carved relief- representing Ganga descending on earth, beautiful temples, the Rathas - big stone carved chariots. We will have a stroll in a village or late afternoon; discover the fisherman coming back from fishing.

Day 3: Mahabalipuram / Pondicherry (Surface / 3 hours)

After breakfast check out & drive to Pondicherry a small & charming city on the bengal sea has been the capital of french teritorry untill 1954. Visit of this former french teritory whose culture is intact, where you will discover the europien atmosphere which remain there as well as the big bazaar typical indian. Visit Shri Aurobindo Ashram, Gandhi;s march on the sea shore, discover the bazaar & Auroville.

Day 4: Pondicherry / Tanjore (Surface / 4 &1/2 hours)

After breakfast check out & drive to tanjore. One of the most brilliant dynasty of south India, the chollas, have settled in tanjore there capital. We Will visit the large Brihasdishwara temple, the master piece of the dravidian art which belong the world partimonial. This 10h century temple dedicated to shiva is one of the rare once which are opened to the non hindu people. Visit of the Tanjore Museum, with its admirable collection of bronze.

Day 5: Tanjore / Madurai (Surface / 4 & ½ hours)

After breakfast check out from Tanjore & drive to madurai. It one of the most extra ordinary workship place in India & the oldest city in Tamil Nadu. Its gigantic temple is dedicated to a female goddess meenakshi, the goddess with fish eye. One can get lost while visiting of room & corridors, discovering the sumptuous sculptured pillars; for sure the devotion of architecture is deep & interesting.

Day 6: Madurai / Munnar (Surface / 5 hours)

After breakfast check out & Departure to the mountains for Munnar after 2 hours drive we enter into Kerala state. Discover the charming landscape of Periyar & thekkady wild life sanctuary; short stop on the sanctuary area at the bank of the lake to see by chance elephant (one have to pay entry fee). One the way, visit the geological garden of Spices with a guide; we will discover many types of plant & how local people are using it in cooking ayurvedic medicine. Arrive Munnar check into hotel. Munnar is a very green & peaceful place. The numerous tea fields on the hills around the creating the wonderful landscape, as well as the colourful cloths of the women working in it. We will spend 2 days in this charming & quiet place.

Day 7: Munnar

Full day free time at leisure. Munnar is the lovely hill station of Kerala rests in the high-ranges of Idukki district at an altitude of 4,500ft with towering mountains, beautiful lakes and rich wildlife, hills draped in folds of green carpet of tea gardens. Sprawling tea plantations, picture book towns, winding lanes, trekking and holiday facilities make Munnar a unique experience. OPTIONAL - Day Excursion to Eravikulam National Park.

Day 8: Munnar / Cochin (Surface / 4 hours)

After breakfast check out & drive to Cochin is situated between the Oman’s sea & many small islands. It has been a Portuguese, then Dutch prosperous territory on the silk & spices road. It is a kind magically case; you will walk in the old streets, during stay in cochin one can visit the famous St Francois Church , the synagogue, the Dutch place, you will discover fisherman coming back from fishing with there huge fishing nets. In the evening see Kathakali performance.

Day 9: Cochin

After breakfast visit the Fort Kochi and Mattancherry, visiting the St. Francis Church, Chinese Fishing nets, Dutch Palace, Jewish Synagogue.

St. Francis Church, Fort Kochi- It is the oldest church built by Europeans in India. On his 3rd visit to Kerala, Vasco da Gama, the Portuguese trader who reached India from Europe by sea, fell ill and died in Kochi. He was buried in the St. Francis Church. Later his remains were taken back to Portugal. In spite of that, his burial spot inside the church has been clearly marked out. 

Chinese Fishing Nets, Fort Kochi - It is believed that traders from the court of the Chinese ruler Kublai Khan introduced these chinese fishing nets here. Oddly, these nets are found only in Kochi, outside China. Many fishermen earn their livelihood by fishing using these massive nets. A whole stretch of the coast along Fort Kochi and Vypeen are dotted with these nets. 

Dutch Palace (Mattancherry Palace), Mattancherry - The Dutch Palace was originally built by the Portuguese. Later, in 17th century, the Dutch modified it and presented it to the Raja of Kochi. Coronation of many Rajas of Kochi was held here. The palace has a fine collection of mural paintings depicting scenes from the Hindu epics Mahabharatha and Ramayana. 

Jewish Synagogue and Jew Town, Mattancherry - The synagogue, built in 1568, is magnificently decorated by Chinese tiles and Belgian chandeliers. Giant scrolls of the Old Testament can be found here. It is located near the Dutch Palace in Mattancherry.

Day 10: Cochin / Alleppey (Surface / 1 hour)

After Breakfast check out and Short drive to Alleppey. Arrive and embark Houseboat situated at a peaceful rhythm of the Kerala Back waters, visiting the canals by boat, cycle or by foot, the villages, the rice field & the coconut trees, plantation. In houseboat to discover the genuine kerala culture.

Day 11: Arrive Kumarakom

Breakfast at Houseboat 0930 am Disembark houseboat at Kumarakom & transfer to Backwater Resort. The enchanting backwater destination of Kumarakom is a small village that is a cluster of little islands on the Vembanad Lake in Kerela. An unbelievably beautiful paradise of mangrove forests, emerald green paddy fields and coconut groves interspersed with enchanting waterways and canals adorned with white lilies. This place is a favorite haunt of migratory birds and an ornithologist's paradise. Birds like, Egrets, darters, herons, teal, waterfowl, cuckoo, wild ducks and the Siberian stork that can be found here in flocks.

Day 12: Kumarakom / Varkala Beach (Surface / 4 hours)

After breakfast check out & drive to Varkala a reach wild beach situated on the arabian sea. You will enjoy spending two days in this magical place, far from any civilisation; wild beaches on the Arabian Sea, small traditional villagers, it is an authentic place to peserve. Small Walk, famiente & baths, discover the rural authentic life in Kerala.

Day 13: Varkala

After breakfast free time to enjoy beach activities. Varkala, a calm and quiet hamlet, lies on the outskirts of Thiruvananthapuram district. It has several places of tourist interests like a beautiful beach, a 2000-year-old Vishnu Temple and the ashramam- Sivagiri Mutt a little distance from the bea\ch. At the serene Varkala beach is a quiet sea resort rich in mineral water springs. A dip in the holy waters at this beach is believed to purge the body of impurities and the soul of all sins; hence the name 'Papanasam beach'. A two thousand year old shrine the Janardhanaswamy Temple stands on the cliffs overlooking the beach, a short distance away. The Sivagiri Mutt, founded by the great Hindu reformer and Philosopher Sree Narayana Guru (1856 - 1928) is also close by. The Samadhi (the final resting place) of the Guru here attracts thousands of devotees every year during the Sivagiri Pilgrimage days - 30th December to 1st January. Sree Narayana Guru propagated the ideology: "one caste, one religion and one god", in a society torn by the taboos of caste system. Varkala offers excellent accommodation facilities for tourists and is fast becoming a popular health resort with many Ayurvedic massage centres.

Day 14: Varala / Trivandrum (Surface / 2 hours) / International Airport

After breakfast check out & drive to Trivandrum. Half-day city tour of Thiruvananthapuram's most interesting temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The Padmanabha Swamy Temple is a blend of the Kerala and Dravidian style of architecture. It is a best example of South Indian architecture, with an impressive seven -story gopuram (tower). There is some intricate granite sculpture and nearly 400 pillars are supporting the temple corridors. Evening Room (1 hourr) for wash n change followed by farewell dinner hosted by Mondial Escapes at Local restaurant serving typical Indian food. Transfer to Thirruvananthapuram international airport to take owward flight back home.
